Carrier Liability Insurance in Road Freight Transport

The insurance is intended for companies that operate domestic or international road transport in their own name for the needs of others for a fee (operation of road transport based on a concession deed, Eurolicense, or transport authority permit).

Carrier liability insurance in road freight transport is arranged for the event that the insured is legally obligated to compensate for damage to property belonging to another party arising from transportation contracts in connection with the activities of the road carrier.

The insurance covers liability for damage to items taken over for the purpose of carrying out road freight transport.

• Domestic transport – according to the legal regulations of the Czech Republic, the Civil Code as amended, particularly the provisions of § 2567
• International transport – according to the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR Convention)
• Cabotage – domestic transport for the needs of others temporarily operated in the host state, i.e., the temporary provision of domestic transport services within another state without the road freight transport operator having a registered office there
